students foreign studiesHyderabad seem to be encountering major brain drain as most of the city students prefering to fly abroad for higher education. As many as 18000 from Hyderabad flew abroad this year for higher studies. The situation further deteriorated after the state bifurcation.

They say there is a sharp rise of 50% in both the Telugu states leaving for abroad studies. The higher education in the state was in utter disarray following the state division agitations since 2009 with most of the students preferring neighbouring states. Situation did not improve even after the separation.

Most of the top rankers are preferring pioneer colleges like IITs while other students migrated due to the lack of clarity over eligibility conditions for the full fee reimbursement scheme given by the government to students of recognized colleges. Its high time the states address this issue!
