Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who is back in the country after a holiday called for a Review Meeting at his Undavalli Residence today. Key leaders of the party skipped the meeting sparking speculations about their quitting the party and joining BJP.
Former MLAs – Bonda Uma, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, Jyothula Nehru, and Bode Prasad have missed the meeting. Gannavaram MLA, Vallabhaneni Vamsi is also missing. Interestingly, Bonda Uma, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, and Jyothula Nehru have recently attended the Kapu leaders meeting which was rumored to be arranged to ensure that all of them leave en masse to BJP.
The meeting happened on the same day when Four Rajya Sabha MPs of TDP joined BJP and merged the Parliamentary Party of TDP into BJP. TDP cadre is extremely worried about what is happening to the party. The cycle party has ended up with its all-time lowest tally of 23 MLAs and 3 MPs in the recent elections.
Narendra Modi and Amit Shah who could not tolerate Naidu’s defiance against them in the recent elections have vowed to finish TDP by the next elections and occupy the space in Andhra Pradesh.
