BJP-Will-Repent-Missing-A-Lifetime-Opportunity-in-TelanganaLagadapati Rajagopal in his survey details revealed that BJP is going to win more than the seats it won in 2014 elections. This is a remarkable achievement since BJP is not contesting without any alliances this time. But then, the party cannot be too happy with their performance and will feel an opportunity squandered.

Telangana BJP immediately distanced from TDP after the 2014 defeat. The party felt that TDP is a liability after the Bifurcation. The Cash for Vote Scam sealed it. There is an absolute vacuum in the Opposition at that time. Congress is clueless about the state because it lost even as it granted the Statehood by sacrificing its prospects in Andhra Pradesh.

TDP is bogged down by the Cash for Vote Scam and Operation Akarsha unleashed by KCR. There is absolutely no one in the Opposition to take on the government. BJP should have made use of this chance and grow in the state. The Saffron Party had the advantage of Central Government Support. Due to that very reason, KCR never really tried to unleash Operation Akarsha on BJP.

But the State BJP leaders never made any effort and were confined to their comfort in Hyderabad. The increase of the seats is due to the High Command’s Micromanagement and fielding some candidates with good personal charisma more than anything else. If at all, Mahakutami comes to Power, BJP may have lost a big chance to make an impact on the state.
