BJP Will Now Need TRS and YSR Congress More Than EverElections for 55 Seats of Rajya Sabha will take place on March 26th and the results will be out on the same day. Currently in 245 seats of Rajya Sabha, BJP and its allies have 110 seats which is 10 less than the majority. In the seats that are getting vacant, BJP seats are 23, Congress and Allies 18, and Independents have 14.

BJP may be the loser in this election as it will fail to retain 2-3 seats of these while Congress and its allies will gain them. This is because of the adverse results the party got in various Assembly elections. Ruling Parties in both the Telugu States will bag all the Six seats that are falling vacant.

YSR Congress will bag four and TRS will get two. TRS will have Seven seats in total while YSR Congress will have Six. The support of these parties will be crucial for BJP for the passage of the crucial Bills in Rajya Sabha. With this, both the parties will have the leverage to Bargain with the Central Government on various issues.

Both the parties are co-operating with the Center in Rajya Sabha until now. YSR Congress even voted in favour of contentious Bills like Citizenship Amendment Act. At the same time, after this election, Congress will lose its representation in Rajya Sabha from both the Telugu States. TDP will be confined to a Single Member.
