YS-Jagan-playing-into-Chandrababu-Naidu's-handsUntil now, the BJP Andhra Pradesh Unit is vertically split on the issue of Three Capitals. While leaders like Kanna Lakshminarayana and Sujana Chowdary are opposing the Capital Shift, GVL Narasimha Rao and Kishan Reddy stated that the Central Government has no role in deciding the capital.

They have finally ended up the confusion. The Core Committee of AP BJP passed a resolution unanimously in favor of continuing Amaravati as the only one Capital City of Andhra Pradesh. The resolution clearly supported the location and functioning of Secretariat, Assembly, Raj Bhavan, CMO, Seed Capital and all major departments in Amaravati alone.

This development comes at the time there are reports that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had rung up to Janasena President Pawan Kalyan and asked him to come to Delhi. Since Pawan Kalyan is supporting Amaravati, the question is if this resolution means the Central Government will also position itself against Jagan’s Government.

If the answer is yes, now another question is if the Central Government will have purview over this issue.
