TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu is in Karnataka to campaign for JD(S). Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda has called Chandrababu Naidu and asked him to campaign in Karnataka. Naidu readily agreed. Chandrababu will begin his campaign in Mandya (Karnataka), from where Grandson of Devegowda is contesting.
In Karnataka’s Mandya Lok Sabha Constituency – Veteran actor and wife of rebel star Ambareesh – Sumalatha is contesting as an independent. Opposition particularly BJP is trying to use this against Naidu and are alleging that Naidu is campaigning against a Telugu origin woman who is in deep sorrow after her husband’s expiry.
This seems to be a silly logic. If at all, BJP fields all woman candidates in 175 constituencies of Andhra Pradesh, should TDP and YSR Congress withdraw from the fray to make them win? BJP is supporting Sumalatha in Mandya, Obviously, that should be enough for Naidu to campaign against her.
