Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) Elections are crucial for BJP to gauge its position before 2019 elections. But then, the party leadership is disappointed at the way the campaign is being handled. BJP was allocated 9 wards to contest in this election.
But party sources say it is in a very uncomfortable position in more than seven wards in terms of chances to win. A worried TDP is encouraging rebels to win over the seats given to the alliance partner. Polling is scheduled for August 29th.
BJP leaders, however, are simply passing the buck alleging that the alliance partner TDP specifically picked the wards for the BJP in which the Opposition YSR Congress Party is likely to have a clear edge. 48 divisions of Kakinada are going for election.
