BJP seems to be playing a mind game with TDP. Every other day, one leader or the other of the party is announcing that several TDP leaders are in touch with them. The latest is that BJP Spokesperson, Raghuram claims that at least 13 MLAs of TDP are ready to join the party and Five to Six MLAs are directly in touch with BJP Central Leadership.
However, this may be an exaggeration since the Speaker already announced that he would not allow the defections. That means TDP MLAs joining BJP should either resign or face disqualification. Moreover, they can not win in the by-election on BJP Symbol.
If BJP is looking at an option by getting Two-Thirds MLAs which will merge TDLP into BJLP. BJP does not have representation in Andhra Pradesh Assembly which means there is no Legislative Party to merge TDLP into it. So, the options are not in favor of the Saffron Party.
BJP managed just 0.85% Vote Share in the recent elections. The party could not manage a single deposit for the Assembly or the Parliament Seats.
