It is known to our leaders that BJP insisted on contesting Tirupati By-election and finally arm-twisted Pawan Kalyan to leave the seat. Pawan Kalyan tried his level best to have the seat for Janasena but his word did not prevail. BJP Insiders say the party has got a good reason for not leaving the seat to Janasena.
“Pawan Kalyan is like a loose Canon. If Janasena is given the seat, Pawan Kalyan will go all out and attack the Ruling Party. But Janasena is not in a position to cash that. That will actually consolidate the vote and help Telugu Desam Party. We do not want that to happen,” the source said.
Does that mean BJP is not going for an aggressive campaign in Tirupati and will help the Ruling Party? BJP is yet to announce a candidate for Tirupati. TDP and YSR Congress already announced their candidates and also started campaign on ground.
Gazette notification for the by-election will be issued on March 23. The last date for filing nominations by contestants is March 30. Scrutiny of nominations will be on March 31 and April 3 the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Polling will be on April 17 and counting of votes on May 2.
