BJP-CongressBJP has been ruling Gujarat since 1995. It has continuously won six elections and now the seventh one is sealed. The results of the Gujarat elections are almost out.

Without even a trace of anti-incumbency, BJP is coming back to power for the seventh time with a record majority.

It is looking at 150 seats plus finish in 182 seats of the state assembly. Congress has managed less than 20 sets and AAP opening their account should be a big concern.

Congress will take a consolation victory in Himachal Pradesh. Congress crossed the simple majority comfortably.

Given that Congress is just seven seats ahead of the majority, there is a chance of the BJP fishing in the troubled waters.

Coming to power in Gujarat will be a great confidence booster for BJP ahead of the elections in 2024 but this will crush whatever morale Congress is left with.

AAP may replace Congress as the possible alternative at the national level in days to come.
