Venkata Ramana, the Judge hearing to the arguments in Jagan’s Dismissal Petitions in Disproportionate Assets case got transferred to Andhra Pradesh following the High Court Bifurcation. After Venkata Ramana heard Dismissal Petitions in Four cases for Two and half years, the new judge will hear all of them from the start.
This means Jagan has got relief with a lot of time going waste. Jagan may also file a petition to exempt him from weekly appearance before the court saying that the proceedings were delayed without his involvement. If it is granted, it will be a huge relief for the Opposition Leader ahead of the elections.
There are allegations from Chandrababu Naidu that the High Court Division was planned by the central government so as to benefit Jagan Mohan Reddy in this case. Interestingly, after spending in jail for 16 months in 2012 and 2013, Jagan got released all of sudden in September 2013, months before the 2014 elections.
Back then, many believed that Congress has saved him so as to get to Power in Andhra Pradesh via YSR Congress after losing ground due to the Bifurcation. But Congress’ Trick did not work back then as Congress is routed and Jagan’s Party is confined to the Opposition. It has to be seen if BJP’s help to Jagan will help him cross the line.
