AP Funds, Modi AP Funds, Central Government AP Funds, Narendra Modi Government AP Funds, Prime Minister Modi AP Funds, Centre AP FundsBJP led Central Government is almost singled out in the Special Status issue. In the short duration discussion about the issue, all the parties across the nation have supported AP’s cause. While BJP is portrayed as a culprit in the entire episode, lets see if they are really the culprits and how justified it is to accuse them.

The other day, Planning minister Rao Inderjit Singh in a written reply to Rajya Sabha said that Andhra Pradesh was provided with 6403 Crore as financial assistance under various provisions of the Andhra Reorganisation Act, 2014 till March this year. 2803 Crore of this is for First year Revenue deficit, 700 Crore for Seven Backward districts, 2050 Crore for Capital Construction and another 850 Crore for Polavaram.

So, 6403 Crore is the central assistance for AP in two years. At the same time, Center is sitting on 7269 Crore as Central Service Tax dues to the state. These dues date as long as 2012-13. First year deficit is some 16700 Crore for Andhra Pradesh where as the aide given by the center will not even cover for the interests being borne by AP on that deficit.
