The lockdown would be the hardest on the daily wage workers as their sources of income have closed down. Now, the Tamil Industry biggies have been coming out to donate for Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI).
So far, superstar Rajinikanth happens to be the star who donated the biggest amount announcing Rs. 50 lakh for the cause. This amount is said to be equal to 25% of the amount requested by FEFSI union workers.
Actor Suriya, Karthi and their father Sivakumar together donated Rs. 10 lakhs, Sivakarthikeyan Rs. 10 lakhs and a few celebrities like Prakash Raj, Parthipan etc. donated bags of rice to be distributed among the film employees.
Donations are pouring in from all quarters to the CM’s relief fund, but donating to workers’ union would help to address the financial problems in a systematic way.
