With the speculations of Andhra Pradesh new capital coming between Vijayawada and Guntur, the land prices have gone up so much that commoners can not even imagine to purchase land in and around the capital. However film and political celebrities are in a mad rush to cash the real estate boom in the area. As per reports, film actors Junior NTR, Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Ashwini Dutt, close relatives of Mohan Babu purchased the huge parcels of land near Nagarjuna University and surroundings of Gannavaram.
Aswini Dutt and Krishnam Raju have close to 60 acres land near Gannavaram Airport but officials say these lands may be acquired by the government for airport expansion. Several political bigwigs especially the Congress MPs now and earlier have got the leaks of bifurcation before the announcement and bought around 500 acres of land in and around Mangalagiri. It is said that land rates around Vijayawada and Guntur have gone up more than 6 times during this speculative time. However transactions in sub-registrar offices in the region have gone double with several bigwigs not minding to shell big money to reap benefits later.
