Several years ago, there has been a rivalry between the BCs and the Kapu community. Political assumptions are that both sides do not vote for a single party.
YSR Congress is planning to use the sentiment to negative the TDP and Janasena alliance impact in the 2024 elections. Ever since coming to power, YSR Congress is trying to lure BCs towards the party by giving them major pie in nominated posts.
YSR Congress’s wishful thinking is that since the Kapu community is likely to vote for TDP, BCs will automatically vote for YSR Congress.
It is a joke that BCs and Kapu communities only vote based on caste calculations. In the 2014 elections, Pawan Kalyan supported TDP and BJP.
In Godavari districts, they have won 29 out of the 34 constituencies. BCs also voted overwhelmingly for TDP and BJP combine even in these districts where the Kapu community is dominant.
In the 2019 elections, BCs and Kapus voted overwhelmingly for YSR Congress. Both these elections did not happen on caste calculations, only the regular political issues influenced anywhere in the state.
Traditionally BCs vote for TDP but it is proved wrong in 2019. Kapus did not vote for Janasena even though Pawan Kalyan is in fray.
That means there is a bit of caste involved in politics but that is not everything.
This wishful thinking about caste-based polarization is nothing but a joke.
BCs would have voted for YSR Congress if they are honest. In the nominated posts, While the important posts go to the Reddys, the namesake ones go to the BCs just for showing the number.
