The polling for Telangana’s most crucial election is currently under way. This is the most controversial as well as the prestigious election since the 2014 elections. Unlike the by-elections that happened earlier, opposition parties have strength here make it an equal balance to the ruling party’s power game. Opposition parties desperately need the win to moralize their cadre.
As many as 71 Lakh voters will be exercising their voting right which means every third voter in Telangana will turn up for the election, making it a semi final for the 2019 elections. The corporation has seen the party winning in Andhra, have its flag fluttering here also. So, TRS would like to break this now.
The election is also important in another way as hold on the capital is always an advantage for parties. More over GHMC is the fourth richest Municipal corporation in the country and have more cash reserves than that of civic bodies in Chennai and Kolkata. The election will also reflect the mood of the settlers who are until now averse to TRS.
