Bathukamma Sarees Going to TRS Party Offices?Election Commission of India did not allow the distribution of Sarees for Bathukamma Festival in the wake of the Model Code of Conduct in force in the state. The State Government had planned to distribute 95 lakh sarees of 80 different varieties at a cost of Rs 280 crore for the Bathukamma festival.

But with Election Commission refusing to give the permission, the Sarees were struck the Warehouses waiting for the elections to complete. But then, a Truck Load of Bathukamma Sarees were seized in Khammam. The Sarees which should in the warehouses were routed to TRS Party Offices for the local distribution.

This is a gross misuse of Power and violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Moreover, it also amounts of the stealing of the Government Property. Election Commission should order an investigation to see how the Sarees were fallen into the hands of a political party. Telangana will go for elections on December 7th and the results will be out on 11th of the same month.
