The three-year rule of KCR is a dream come true kind of Honey Moon period for any Politician. It was that kind of time when even a serious mistake was ignored by the people who have said ‘All is Well’ with the Telangana Sentiment.
But then either the government had become complacent or has taken the people granted, it has faltered big time in Bathukamma Sarees distribution the other day. The freebie scheme taken up with 200 Crore ended up defaming the government since the quality of sarees is so cheap.
Women who stood in queues for hours to get the sarees were highly disappointed. They began tearing them and burning them cursing KCR. “Should We stand in line for hours for this 50 Rupees Saree when we lost 300 wages per day? a woman questioned. “Will Kavitha wear such saree”, another woman asked.
These are some strong reactions which KTR backed saying that it is the game of Opposition. But then, the ground reports indicate that the government is just trying to put up a brave face. Opposition suspect a scam involved in this scheme. A ploy to attract women voter with sarees backfired completely. It is just a classic example of why people can not be taken granted.
