Autos Strike affect Hyderabadis

The auto unions in Hyderabad are on a strike for the third day demanding increase in the minimum meter charge. The strike is badly affecting the people who are returning to the city after Pongal vacation. People who are arriving by buses and trains are finding it extremely tough to reach their houses in over crowded buses and cabs. Some of the autos are demanding a minimum of 300 Rupees fare cashing the situation while cabs are charging a minimum of 600 rupees which is 200% more than the normal rates.

On the other sides, ladies and children with heavy luggage are finding it extremely tough to commute in this situation. The RTC and Setwin buses seem to be the only alternatives but they are unusually crowdy with no place event to stand. On the other side, the autos strike is expected to continue for few more days. Certain auto associations are planning to conduct Chalo Assembly today and intensify their fight.
