AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi announces support to JDS in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. MIM will not field any candidate as planned earlier and says it wants a non-congress and non-BJP government in Karnataka for a qualitative development.
It may be known that KCR recently met JDS Chief Deve Gowda in Bengaluru and pledged his support for the upcoming elections. He urged the Telugu people living there to vote for JDS and even offered to campaign for the party if asked.
Congress is feeling the pinch with Owaisi’s announcement since the Muslim votes which should go en masse to them will be now divided between them and JDS which will benefit BJP. But the damage should not be as much as if MIM contests.
