YS Jagan - Supreme CourtAndhra Pradesh High Court a few days back ago, found fault with Andhra Pradesh Government’s decision to paint all Government buildings in YSR Congress colors. The Court gave the government ten days’ time to repaint all of them. Surprising everyone, the government had the audacity to knock the door of the Supreme Court over this issue.

The Supreme Court supported the verdict of the High Court. The bench headed by the Chief Justice questioned the State Government if it is fine if the Central Government buildings are painted Saffron (Colour of BJP). The court struck down the review petition of the State Government.

The court instructed the Government to remove the party colors on an immediate basis much to the disappointment of the State Government. A whopping 1300 Crore has been spent to paint all the Government buildings in Andhra Pradesh. Now the re-painting will also cost huge.

It is really surprising how the State Government wanted to go for a review of this judgment even though it is fully aware of committing a mistake.
