Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley responded on the agitations going on in Andhra Pradesh and Parliament over the Special Status issue. The Finance Minister and Leader of Rajya Sabha went on to say he talked to AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and can really understand the aspirations and worries of the state MPs.
He promised the MPs that his government is discussing the remedial measures to help Andhra Pradesh and reiterated his government’s commitment to helping the truncated state. It is said that one of the MPs clearly told Jaitley there is no use in further discussions and Center should honour all the promises made to the state.
It is also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu to sit with Arun Jaitley and find an amicable solution to the issue. The crucial GST Bill is coming to voting in Rajya Sabha tomorrow. TDP votes will become crucial provided Congress votes against the bill and so the Delhi bosses are worried.
