Ashok Leyland Andhra PradeshAshok Leyland plant in Vijayawada has started the commercial production of the buses. This is a project arrived in Andhra Pradesh during the tenure of Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu performed the ground breaking ceremony in December 2018. The construction has been delayed due to the pandemic.

Andhra Pradesh was the hub of investments during Chandrababu Naidu‘s rule. Many big brands have made Andhra Pradesh their home during that period. The priorities have changed after the change of power. Andhra Pradesh is now ranked thirteenth in attracting FDIs during October 2019 and November 2020.

The plant will have a capacity to manufacture 4,800 buses per annum. Spread over a 75-acre site at Mallavalli village, 40-km from Vijayawada, the plant will include latest technologies to deliver the high-quality standards of Ashok Leyland brand. The unit will also have a state-of-the-art learning center and an advanced service training center.

The plant is a complete green facility, with rooftop solar panels, LED lighting, battery-operated vehicles for in-plant movement, positive water balance and zero discharge.
