Jammu and Kashmir is battling one of the worst floods in decades due to days of incessant rain. Over 200 people have died and thousands are stranded across the state waiting desperately for food and medical help. Water, electricity, supplies and other services have been hit within the state. Andhra Pradesh government had decided to extend helping hand to the state. Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu announced 5 Crore help for the relief works.

The state government also airlifted 300 metric tonnes of Food and 145 Metric tonnes of Ready to eat packaged food to the flood victims. This relief material was airlifted by Air Force Personnel a short while ago. It is said that government officials have spoke to their counterparts in Jammu and Kashmir and offered help if needed in terms of man power too.
