APGENCO on Saturday has informed all the discoms of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana that they have cancelled all the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that are made in United Andhra Pradesh. The PPAs are submitted to Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) before the bifurcation but they are not approved till date. Since there are no approved PPAs APGENCO is canceling all of them with immediate effect. APGENCO even sent a letter regarding the same to ERC also.
With the crisis ripening every day, Southern Regional Load Dispatch Center (SRLDC) is expressing concern over grid failure if both the states try to draw power against the allocations which may lead to the grid failure. SRLDC has called both the GENCOs for a meeting on June 24th to discuss the grid issues. Center is also thinking on the lines of sitting across the table with two states and reach an amicable solution.
