Andhra Pradesh government had decided to seek 3500 Crore more from the center regarding Amaravati. The center had so far sanctioned up to 2000 Crore so far. Most of it went towards the Land Pooling for compensation to farmers. The government had completed the land pooling exercise and the capital construction will begin towards the end of this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly down to Amaravati to lay the foundation stone for the capital on Vijaya Dasami day. He is expected to announce some package and may release this 3500 Crore as first installment.
The total capital construction is expected to cost about 1 Lakh Crore for the government. Andhra Pradesh is left with out a capital following the state bifurcation. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization promised the truncated state that the Center will fund all the expenses of the new capital but the Center is looking very placid in helping the state in the crisis situation.
