The Chief Ministers of Telugu States have pinned high hopes on the delimitation to accommodate Jump Jilanis in the party. Home Ministry had prepared a note regarding the same and sent it for the approval of the Prime Minister’s Office.
PMO is sitting on it only after its approval will be placed before the Cabinet for clearance. Only then, it will be placed in the Parliament. But then, the winter session of Parliament is being shortened to just 6-7 working days, between December 14 and 23, due to the Gujarat Assembly polls.
In such case, the bill may not come up in Parliament in this session. Once Parliament passes the amendment to Section 26, it will take a minimum of six months for the Election Commission to make fresh delimitation, paving the way for increasing the seats.
