AP Ranked Last, Telangana Much Ahead!Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) had released the ranks of the states under Startup India initiative.

The ranking gauges the efforts of the states and union territories from October 2019 to July 2021 with an aim of promoting competition among them.

Based on 28 factors, the states are rated on a scale of 100. There are five categories: Megastars, Superstars, Stars, Rising Stars, and Sunrisers.

Telangana is placed in the Superstars while Gujarat and Karnataka are in Megastars category.

Andhra Pradesh has come up with dismal performance and is placed in the bottom category of Sunrisers along with Bihar and small states like Mizoram and Ladakh.

The report mentioned some best practices being followed by Bihar as well but there is absolutely no mention of anything about Andhra Pradesh.

The state has highest number of Engineering colleges with 10s of 1000s of Graduates coming out every year.

There is no policy to tap their innovation and they have to migrate Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and other cities for employment and startup opportunities.
