The finance minister presented a budget of 1,56,999 Crore with Revenue deficit being 23,054 Crore, a vast majority of this is inherited from the state bifurcation.

Emphasis on the allocations for rural development, agriculture, and water resources. 19565 Crore for Rural Development, 9090 Crore for Agriculture, 12770 Crore for Irrigation. For the expense of various welfare schemes, a whopping 11361 Crore is allocated.

For the flagship schemes of the government, some big allocations are made. 3600 Crore for Raithu Runa Mafi, 1000 Crore for Kapu Corporation, 500 Crore for Assistance to Unemployed youth and 1061 Crore for Amaravati etc.

While the emphasis is on welfare and infrastructure development, increasing Revenue deficit and mounting debts are becoming big problems for the state which has stiff challenges to achieve in the coming years with big projects like Polavaram, Amaravati etc needing huge resources.
