Andhra Pradesh government has come up with one more SC welfare scheme. The government has decided to bear the expenditure of eligible SC student’s studies abroad up to Rs 10 lakhs.The scheme is titled Ambedkar Overseas Education Fund and will roll out under the implementation of SC Sub plan. The government has announced that any number of SC students who get admission to the colleges in UK, USA, Australia and Singapore for any two-year programme will be eligible for this scheme.

The government is planning to extend this scheme Very soon to one-year programmes as well. The Telugu Desam Party government has set a target of sending at least 300 students this year. Last year, 84 students had applied for financial assistance from the government under this scheme and out of which, only 66 students, 48 from Telangana and 18 from the Andhra region, were selected under the scheme then in implementation.
