Politics is a strange arena. YSR Congress has opposed Kia Motors Plant in Anantapur while it is in the Opposition. Back then, TDP alleged that YSR Congress tried to create roadblocks for the Land Acquisition for the Project. Just Before the elections, YSR Congress staged a protest before the plant saying that it is not recruiting the locals.
And now Chief Minister Jagan will very soon attend the Opening day of the commercial production. On the other side, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has claimed credit for the Plant in Andhra Pradesh. “Kia Motors established Plant in AP on the request of Late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Kia Motors announced setting up the plant way back in 2007 itself,” he said in the State Assembly. He further explained to the House that YSR wrote a letter to the company during his tenure to establish the manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh.
This is a silly claim by the Finance Minister and will do no good to the government’s image. Also, the finance minister has to explain why his party in Opposition did not welcome the project brought to Andhra Pradesh by the Late YSR. We have already seen BJP claiming it as their Make in India achievement.
