Former AP BJP President and MP, Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as Governor. The President of India has appointed him as the Governor of Mizoram on the recommendation of the Union Government. Haribabu was the President of Andhra Pradesh BJP when the TDP and BJP alliance got finalized in 2014 election.
He contested for Vishakapatnam Parliament as the common candidate in 2014 and emerged as a giant-killer defeating YSR Congress Honarary President, YS Vijayamma. Later, he made way for Kanna Lakshminarayana and is not very actively seen in the media. He is only seen party programs every now and then.
He did not even contest in 2019 elections. Hari Babu is a native of Prakasam district and also participated in Jai Andhra movement in support for the creation of Andhra state as Student leader. He is one of the oldest leaders of BJP from Andhra Pradesh and is now rewarded for his loyalty.
Bandaru Dattatreya, a former Telangana BJP leader who is until now the Governor of Himachal Pradesh is shifted to Harayana.
