Reports are emerging that AP BJP President Haribabu has submitted his resignation to the party high command the last night. The party may announce a new President anytime from now. Buzz in the political circles is that Somu Veerraju’s name is confirmed unless there is any last minute change. The President Change is on cards since TDP parted ways with the NDA government at the center.
It is interesting to note that Haribabu is given an extension only a couple of months ago. But after TDP walked out of the alliance, the party is heading towards having a leader who will oppose TDP tooth and nail. Haribabu even released a booklet the other day revealing all that were given to the state by the central government.
That indicates that the party has asked him to resign. This is very much expected since Ram Madhav, a strict anti-TDP leader is appointed as the party incharge. Along with Somu Veerraju, Padikondala Manikyala Rao and Kanna Lakshminarayana are also in the race. All of them are known to be anti-TDP leaders so that does not make much difference.
Somu Veerraju’s elevation will also mean that it is the party high command which has supported him all the way to trouble the alliance partner and force it out of the alliance. Given that everything has happened according to plan, it has to be seen if the tall claims of growing into a significant force in Andhra Pradesh will come true. The party has to start from almost zero now.
