Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments are mulling over their primary poll promise of Loan Waiver to farmers. It is known that AP government is already in talks with Reserve Bank of India over flexing the rules of loan rescheduling proposed to ease the burden of loan waiver. Chandra Babu Naidu on Saturday held a review meeting with Finance and Agricultural Ministers and Kotayya Committee members regarding the loan waiver and Chandra Babu reportedly clarified them the government will not back out from the promise irrespective of RBI’s decision.

On the other side, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao held a similar meeting with officials in finance and agricultural department. KCR had constituted a commitee with Chief Secretary of Revenue department, Chief Secretary of Finance department, Bankers committee convenor and other officials to study best possible solutions in loan rescheduling and loan waiver.
