Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be not coming out of that Baadhude Baadhudu mode. Not before the criticism of the power charges hike died down, the government increased property tax once again.
The property tax in towns has increased by 15%. This increase takes the total increase to 32.24% in two years.
People have to shell out additional 214 Crores this year towards this.
To get additional loans, Jagan Government had linked property tax to the market value of properties. As the market values are being increased every year, the property tax is also increasing.
People are already in financial distress due to COVID. Now, they are burdened by a massive increase in essentials, power charges hike, etc, and now another hike.
YSR Congress may have to pay price politically if this attitude continues.
