Andhra Pradesh Government has gone an extra mile to fund the International Operations from Vijayawada to Singapore. Very soon, there will be at least three flights per week between Singapore and Vijayawada Gannavaram Airport.
The high connectivity between the two places will help to increase the engagement between the two governments for different development programmes. The state government will reimburse the losses if any of the airlines if the minimum occupancy is not met with.
Central Government has accorded International Airport Status to Gannavaram Airport several months ago but despite the best efforts of the state government, international operations are yet to begin from the airport.
