Andhra Pradesh Struggles Far Behind TelanganaAndhra Pradesh seems to be struggling far behind Telangana in vaccinating the 18-44 age group. As per the data available until July 20th, Andhra Pradesh has vaccinated 27,66,368 people with the first dose while 70,086 people received the second dose (which means they are fully vaccinated).

Telangana is much ahead in this by vaccinating 50,04,483 people with the first dose while fully vaccinating 3,77,487 with both doses. Andhra Pradesh is far behind the backward states like Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Vaccinating the 18-44 group is very crucial in combating the COVID-19 because this group is most agile and is capable of spreading the virus rapidly. The big private hospitals that are capable of procuring the vaccines in high amounts and organizing huge drives are less in Andhra Pradesh. So, the numbers are less.

It is then the Government is expected to step forward and take care but it looks like that is not happening on the expected level. While Telangana is ahead of AP, it is still very backward if we consider Maharashtra vaccinating around 98 Lakh people with first dose and Madhya Pradesh vaccinating 1.12 Crore citizens of this age group.
