Amid the rumors in a section media about the Central Government considering Special Status to Andhra Pradesh, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal watered all the hopes. He advised the new government to forget about the Special Status and study Special Package to understand its worth.
The other day, Jagan met Home Minister Amit Shah and told the media that he urged for the Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. But it is more or less evident that all these are photo-ops. Also, this situation leaves CM Jagan in a Catch 22 situation. Jagan had promised the moon to come into Power and to fulfill all of them he needs money.
He may be tempted to take the Special Package to meet those expenses but then it will bring him a lot of political criticism as he portrayed himself as the Special Status Warrior. It has to be seen what Jagan decides on this issue which will have a significant bearing on his Political Future.
In his very Press Meet after meeting the Prime Minister after his electoral victory, Jagan told the media that there is very little he can do since BJP has got the majority on its own. He clarified that they can not demand the Special Status and can only request until they are moved.
