Andhra Pradesh Ranked Second in GST PreparednessAndhra Pradesh ranks second in the country in terms of preparedness for the new tax regime of Goods and Services Tax (GST) which roll out from tomorrow as 92% of its traders enrolling themselves to migrate from the existing Value Added Tax (VAT) system to GST.

Karnataka is leading the country. Multiple taxes including VAT, service tax, central sales tax (CST), central excise duty, entry tax, entertainment tax and luxury tax will be subsumed under the unified tax. All the traders with annual income more than 20 Lakhs will come under GST.

On the other side, there are concerns that there will be implementation errors in the first six months of GST rollout and everyone is fearing the demonetization like troubles. Andhra Pradesh Government had started a Redressal Call Center to address the issues faced by the traders.
