Andhra Pradesh in -Autopilot Mode- High Time Jagan Wakes Up!Andhra Pradesh Government has announced that eleven people were killed in Tirupati RUIA Hospital after a disruption in Oxygen supply to the emergency ward. There is a report in ABN – Andhrajyothy that the number is Twenty Five. There is a huge public outcry over this issue. But then, this is not the first such incident in Andhra Pradesh.

There were at least four such incidents in hospitals of Anantapur, Nellore, Hindupur, and Machilipatnam in the last one week but the Government, on every occasion attributed the deaths to other reasons than the disruption in Oxygen supply. Irrespective of the real count, it is the first time AP Government has confirmed such an incident.

Meanwhile, there is no political ownership of such a serious lapse. The Health Minister of the state is yet to come before the media at the time of writing this article. There was a regular press communique from the CMO that the Chief Minister is shellshocked and ordered an inquiry.

On the other side, social media is fuming at this incident and attributes this to the Chief Minister’s uninspiring leadership in the middle of a Pandemic. The hashtag #ResignJagan is trending on Twitter. “Ever since the second wave started, there is not even a single press meet from Jagan giving some hope to the people. There is not even a single instance where he came out of his Tadepalli Camp Office,” people on social media allege.

“All he did are routine review meetings sitting in the ac chambers. The Chief Minister, the cabinet, and the administration are looking clueless in crisis management. The official machinery either lacks the motivation or lacks the focus after fighting for more than a year. With those in power confined only to Conference halls with Review meetings, no one is worried about accountability. Everything in AP is on autopilot mode which will naturally have its own lapses. When such lapses occur, lives will be gone. It is criminal that along with the virus, people have to save their lives from human negligence,” they add.

“The tragedy is that someone who came to power by being amid the people in the name of Padayatra totally being aloof to the people in an unimaginable human tragedy. If those in power think dolling out freebies only matter at the end, people will definitely spring a surprise,” Political experts read the situation.
