Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar - Panacyath Elections NotificationAndhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has taken action on Panchayati Raj Chief Secretary, GK Dwivedi, and Commissioner Girija Shankar for their intentional tryst to delay the elections. As a result, the 2021 voters list is not ready and the elections had to be conducted with the 2019 voters list.

With that, 3.61 Lakh new voters have lost their right to exercise their franchise. The remarks will be noted in their service records as well. The entire administration in the state is gripping with fear after this development. Everyone in the administration tried not to co-operate with the State Election Commission in the conduct of the elections.

They are fearing the consequences now. An entry in their service record means a black mark on their entire career. “We have no option actually. Nimmagadda will not be here after March but we have to work with this government for at least three years. We could not offend the government. Now we are cornered,” a senior official in the Panchayati Raj department laments.

Interestingly, GK Dwivedi was making such transfers and creating problems for the then Chandrababu Naidu government in 2019 and is now at the receiving end.
