Ganta Srinivas rao honours Pakistani scholorThe government of Andhra Pradesh named a proposed Urdu university after Moulvi Abdul Haq. The Moulvi Abdul Haq is a Pakistani professor born in India and later shifted to Pakistan during India Pakistan separation in 1947. Moulvi Abdul Haq is known as father of Urdu for his contribution to the development of the language in the Indian sub-continent.

AP government inadvertently passed the bill on Pakistani professor name instead of naming after Abdul Haq. Abdul Haq is a noted educationist and philanthropist and worked for the uplift of Muslims in the erstwhile Madras Presidency. Already Unani College in Kurnool named after Dr Abdul Haq.

Interestingly, both TDP and YSRCP claimed the credit blindly and tried to score brownie points for promoting Urdu language. The proposed university will be set up in Orvakallu near Kurnool city in 125acres. Already CM Chandra Babu laid foundation stone for the university in last November.
