AP Secretariat on Corona Alert

Andhra Pradesh Secretariat

Telangana Government has agreed to give Green Passage to around 400 AP Secretariat employees who are stranded in Hyderabad due to the Lockdown. Employees of the Secretariat usually go back to their families in Hyderabad every weekend. Most of them did not shift their families to Amaravati since 2014.

The employees will be ferried to Amaravati in 10 RTC Buses from Miyapur, KPHB, and LB Nagar. These employees will be admitted to work without quarantine unless they are symptomatic. It is to be noted that these employees are coming from the Red Zone of Telangana.

On the other side, Andhra Pradesh Government is likely to conduct Corona tests to all the 3,000 staff working in the AP Secretariat. Most of these staff are likely to come into contact with Senior officials, People’s Representatives, and Ministers.

So, the Government is keen on not taking any risk. On the other side, the total corona cases in Andhra Pradesh, according to the medical bulletin is 2,719. The foreign returnees are increasing the cases in the state. The contagious virus so far claimed 57 lives in the state.
