Andhra Pradesh Govt Officials Abandon Cars for New Ones!Andhra Pradesh government officials who recently moved to Amaravati dumped about 50 Cars many of them in working condition in the premises of Secretariat after they got new government vehicles in the new capital. Many of those vehicles have traffic challans pending against them of between Rs 500 to Rs 2,000 for various traffic violations.

The last update from the General Administration Department is that they will be put up for auction very soon but then, there are no officials left in Hyderabad who can initiate the auction process. Interestingly, there are some 30 vehicles abandoned in Telangana Secretariat Premises as well.

According to the rule book, Only those vehicles will be condemned that have traveled over 2-lakh kilometers. The rest will be restored and handed over to departments concerned. But then the officials have got new premium vehicles sanctioned and abandoned old vehicles, though they are in running condition.

This kind of dubious expenditure comes as that time when Andhra Pradesh is sitting on a huge revenue deficit and have no capital. But then, as always government and its officials are not so worried about that and go on with their usual business.
