Government To Take Ordinance Route for Three Capitals? If a report in Deccan Chronicle today is to be believed, the State Government is not keen on waiting for the Select Committee Report on three Capitals. Bypassing the Council, the state government is preparing to promulgate ordinances to move forward on the issue.

Once the ordinances are up, the Government can start moving the offices to Vishakapatnam and they will have six months to get the Assembly ratification. If necessary, the Government will have another six months to get the Assembly’s approval. Meanwhile, the Government will get to abolish the council if needed.

However, if the Government makes such a move it will be interesting to see how Governor Harichandan Biswabhushan responds. Will the Governor give nod for an ordinance when the issue is pending with the Select Committee going to be appointed by the Council? is the question.

Moreover, the High Court is already hearing the cases and the Government’s enthusiasm at this stage may anger the court as well. We are told that the Government is seeking legal advice on the Ordinances and will very soon make a decision.
