Andhra Pradesh government has felicitated the team of Mahanati which made a beautiful Biopic of Legendary Actress Savitri. After honoring the team, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced the Tax Exemption for the film in Andhra Pradesh.
The team will be exempted from the SGST component of the GST imposed on Film Tickets which means the film will get 50% of the GST Exemption effectively. Mahanati is the first film in Telugu to get Tax Exemption after the implementation of GST.
Mahanati on the other side is inching towards the 40 Crore Share Club. The movie has recovered all its investment from the non-theatrical revenues itself and so it is a huge profit venture for the makers who have released the film on their own.
