A report in Eenadu revealed a shocking fact that YSR Congress Government is resorting to cutting down on ration cards to ease the financial burden. According to the report, the Government had canceled a whopping 18.72 Lakhs of White Ration Cards. This will ensure a saving of 1,449 Crore on Rice alone for the Government.
If you also consider, Sugar, Wheat, Palmolive oil, and others, this will be even more. If we consider at least three persons per card, 55.50 Lakhs of beneficiaries will not avail of the benefits. On average, 12.71% of families in the state will not get ration from next month.
Already there are allegations of Government cutting down pensions by introducing new conditions to ease the financial burden. Main Opposition Party, TDP has decided to rake up the issue big time and fight on behalf of the beneficiaries who are left out.
Political Experts say that Ration Cards and Pensions will have a huge impact on the upcoming local elections.
