andhra pradesh extends Power bonhomie to TelanganaAndhra Pradesh is likely to sell the excess power it has got to Telangana coming next month. Telangana has got acute short of power and is relying on buying from outside. Recently the state government had asked Andhra Pradesh, the possibility of buying power from Krishnapatnam Power Station.

Andhra Pradesh reportedly informed them the power can not be sold in peak summer as technical problems are ensuring that all the plants are not operating at the full capacity. Andhra Pradesh is likely to offer 300MW of Power to Telangana from June. Telangana is likely to get that at 4.62 Rupees per unit which is a reasonable cost.

However AP government is worried about the pending power bills from Telangana. Already Telangana’s dues are running over 1000 Crores, if the bills of this Power are also treated similarly, AP Power discoms will go in to financial crisis. And so the PPA will be executed in a way there is a time frame for the payments.
