Andhra Pradesh Does Its Part, Center Not InterestedCentral Government has sanctioned 38 institutions of which 19 were part of the AP Reorganisation Act and the rest on the request of the State Government. These institutions will need around 12000 Crore but the fund’s allocation is disappointing.

The State Government allotted land and funds for compound wall construction but the lack of funds for the construction of permanent campuses resulted in the institutions functioning from temporary offices. As a result, staff and students were facing many problems in these temporary structures.

IIT in Tirupati was allocated 630.49 acres by the State Government, NIT in Tadepalligudem was allotted 172.08 acres but were running on Temporary Campuses. The state completed its part of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Visakhapatnam, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) at Tirupati, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy in Visakhapatnam.
