AP BJP Desperate for Kapu Leaders?

Somuverraju - Mudragada Padmanabham

AP BJP seems to be trying to be a platform for Kapu Leaders in Andhra Pradesh in a bid to woo the community. With Janasena already as its alliance partner, Somu Veerraju wants to further consolidate. Earlier this week, he released a press note about meeting former AP TDP President Kala Venkat Rao.

Later, Kala Venkat Rao had come before the media and refused any plans of meeting Somu or joining the BJP. For the last two days, AP BJP is making Hulchul on social media about Somu Veerraju meeting Kapu Strongman Mudragada Padmanabham.

The meeting has happened but the latter did not give any assurance of joining BJP. Buzz in East Godavari is that Mudragada’s son is keen on joining YSR Congress and Padmanabham does not want to play a spoilsport for his son. It looks like it is not happening for AP BJP despite their efforts.

On the other side, political experts say Kapu Community is not happy with BJP with the way they are not giving enough prominence for Janasena and they may not vote en mass for the BJP candidate in the Tirupati by-election.
